Travel

High ticket, long gap, frequent cancellation

Travel has the hardest chargeback profile in retail. Tickets are expensive, the gap between payment and service is months, and cancellations are normal rather than exceptional. All three push disputes up.

The problem

What breaks in travel

Chargeback exposure

A long delay between payment and travel gives more time for a dispute, and the amounts are large.

High-value declines

Large transactions attract issuer scrutiny and fail more often than small ones.

Refund speed expectations

Cancelled trips create urgent refund demand, often at scale when a route is disrupted.

Rolling reserves

The category usually carries a reserve, which affects working capital.

What we do

How this is handled

Routing on high-value transactions

Recoverable declines on large tickets retried through an alternate acquirer.

Evidence handling on disputes

Chargeback requests arrive with the network deadline attached, not after it has passed.

Bulk refunds

Mass cancellation events handled as a batch rather than one refund at a time.

Clear reserve terms

Where a reserve applies, the percentage and holding period are written into your agreement.

Questions

Travel, answered

Will I have to hold a rolling reserve?

Probably. Travel carries elevated chargeback exposure and most providers, including us, apply a reserve. What matters is that the percentage and holding period are stated in your agreement rather than changed without notice.

How fast are refunds?

We submit promptly; the time to reach the customer depends on their bank and method. UPI is usually fastest and cards slowest. We will not promise you a timeline that belongs to an issuing bank.

How are chargebacks handled?

You receive the dispute with the evidence requirement and the network deadline. Whether it is upheld is decided by the network, not by us — what we control is that you get enough notice to respond.
