Marketplaces
You collect once and pay out many times
A marketplace has both problems at once. Money comes in from buyers on one schedule and goes out to sellers on another, with commission in between and a refund able to arrive after you have already paid the seller.
The problem
What breaks in marketplaces
Split economics
Each transaction owes a different amount to a different seller, minus your commission.
Payout timing risk
Pay sellers too early and a refund leaves you exposed. Pay too late and sellers leave the platform.
Per-seller reporting
Every seller wants their own statement, and they want it to reconcile with yours.
Onboarding many sellers
Each seller needs verification and bank details captured before they can be paid.
What we do
How this is handled
Collections across every method
One checkout for buyers, one record shape for you, regardless of how they paid.
Bulk seller payouts
Settle to thousands of sellers on your schedule by file or API, with per-seller status.
Per-seller ledger
Collections, commission, refunds and payouts visible per seller and exportable.
Maker-checker on payout runs
A second approver before a large seller settlement leaves the account.
Questions
Marketplaces, answered
Can you split a payment between sellers automatically?
Split behaviour depends on your structure and what your sponsor bank permits for your model. Tell us how your flows work — whether you take custody, and how commission is booked — and we will confirm what is available to you.
How do I pay sellers?
Bulk payouts by file or API, on whatever schedule you set. Each seller gets their own record and reason code, so a failed payout is traceable to one seller rather than one batch.
What if a refund comes after I have paid the seller?
That exposure is why most marketplaces hold a settlement delay or a reserve against seller payouts. We can support either; the right one depends on your category and refund rate.
Other industries
The pattern repeats across categories. TrustPay handles the same problem in different shapes.
